In the past three years, hemp-derived CBD has exploded onto the market across the country. As word-of-mouth spreads on social media, more people are experiencing and talking about how hemp helps their health. Have you tried hemp for your health yet? Maybe you still have questions. We've got the answers. Let's take a look at what hemp is and how it interacts with your body. We'll explore what research says hemp-derived CBD may do to help your health and how to find the safest CBD oil in the emerging and largely unregulated industry.
What Is Hemp?
Hemp is a form of cannabis plant. Unlike a more notorious cannabis plant, marijuana, hemp has very little of the psychoactive substance THC. It, therefore, cannot get you high and is legal in all 50 states. The primary active substance in the hemp plant is cannabidiol (CBD). The safest CBD oils such as those produced by Gencanna are extracted from industrial hemp. Cannabis has been used by doctors and herbalists for thousands of years to help people with many common ailments. But only in the past 50 years have researchers learned that, in many cases, it's the CBD rather than the THC providing the therapeutic health benefits. Because CBD is now legal federally in the US, people who live in states where medical marijuana is not legal can experience the potential health benefits of CBD.
How Hemp Works In Your Body
CBD works by interacting with the cannabinoid receptors found in your body. These receptors are responsible for regulating several body functions including but not limited to immune function, pain perception and mood. They do this by controlling the flow of certain hormones in the body, primarily serotonin, the happiness hormone. Unlike illicit or prescription drugs that create euphoric or high feelings, CBD simply creates a sense of balance and general well-being in the body and mind. General well-being is where a normal, healthy body and mind should spend most of the time. We were never intended to be stressed out and in pain much of our day.
How Hemp May Help Your Health
Now let's look at some specific ailments for which CBD may have a therapeutic effect. But remember, you should never stop taking a prescribed medication without speaking with your doctor. CBD is not intended to replace medication. But you may need less of it. Hemp for Inflammation Inflammation plays the important role of fighting infection. But chronic inflammation is an over-reaction of the immune system. Because the safest CBD oil helps the body keep the immune system in balance, it may reduce chronic inflammation, including inflammation in the colon, joints and even the brain. Studies show that those receiving a regular dose of CBD over a period have fewer inflammation markers on tests. CBD can help reduce the severity of many common inflammatory diseases.
Hemp for Anxiety, Panic Attacks & Depression :
Anxiety and depression may seem like emotional or thought disorders and these certainly do play a role. But they're exacerbated by hormonal imbalances in the body that make you feel down, anxious, paranoid or defeated. Researchers believe that CBD helps those with depression and anxiety have fewer, and less severe, episodes by keeping these hormones in balance. Numerous pre-clinical studies support CBD may help people with several anxiety-related disorders. Many anti-anxiety and antidepressant drugs cause fatigue or alter mental states. CBD doesn't do this. That's why so many people are seeking out the safest CBD oil to supplement their medical treatment.
Hemp for Chronic Pain
CBD may also reduce pain over time. CBD isn't like ibuprofen or aspirin that masks pain. Instead, initial studies indicate that CBD may help nerves develop a protective barrier that reduces chronic pain with regular usage. For example, one study showed the CBD could reduce neuropathic pain caused by chemo without negatively impacting nervous system function or the chemo. Another study showed that applying CBD oil topically could reduce joint pain and inflammation. Yet another small but significant study showed that CBD may protect the vertebrae against degenerative disc problems, a common cause of low back pain.
Hemp to Manage Chemo Side Effects
As a healthy person, the last thing you want to think about is disease. On top of the disease itself, chemo side effects can be life-threatening and miserable. CBD may help provide relief to patients suffering from chemo side effects. Chemo may reduce the occurrence of nausea and vomiting in chemo patients, which allows a chemo patient to eat for their health during treatment. And as stated earlier, CBD can reduce neuropathy pain. In fact, researchers determined that those using CBD during chemo had less nerve toxicity, suggesting that the CBD may provide a protective function to the nerves. Many tests have been completed the safety and effectiveness of CBD. Initial results are very promising. But it's important to note that researchers conducting these tests use some of the most effective and safest CBD oil to ensure consistent results in their tests. If you're interested in the health benefits of hemp, it's important that you also look for the best CBD oils. Let's look at why Gencanna is the best and safest.

In the latter part of the 19th and earlier part of the 20th century, Kentucky was one of the largest producers of hemp across the planet. As much as three-fourths of the hemp fiber used in various manufacturing processes was sourced from hemp grown by Kentuckians. However, when the 1970 War On Drugs took place, all forms of cannabis sativa plants became controlled substances, and that, unfortunately, included hemp plants. In 2018, President Trump passed the 2018 Farm Bill, which decriminalized hemp production nationwide. For Kentucky farmers who have struggled to find consistent incomes with other crops throughout the last several decades, the passage of this bill has given them new hope about the future. As long as hemp produced is below the regulated 0.3 percent THC level, it is legal to grow, sell, and use for manufacturing all those wonderful hemp-based products that have been forced off to the sidelines for so many years.
Why Kentucky Needed a New Cash Crop
The many strikes against big tobacco have left many KY farmers looking for alternatives to growing tobacco, which naturally took the place of hemp as Kentucky's cash crop in the past. Where acre after acre of tobacco once grew, many farmers have reverted to basic crops like soybeans and corn just to make ends meet. The state is the prime climate for growing many types of plants, and hemp just happens to be one that flourishes in the area.
The Future of Hemp Is Highly Promising
Hemp is a highly versatile plant in that all parts of the plant can be used to produce different types of products. Not only can hemp be grown for food-related uses, such as hemp seed oil, it can also be used for its incredibly strong fibers. Historically, hemp has been used to make fabric, paper, and even biofuels. However, the latest craze in hemp has been associated with the cannabinoid CBD. CBD, or cannabidiol, is one type of cannabinoid that is naturally present in hemp plants, and it seems the best CBD oil is derived from hemp since there is little concern of the oil being laced with high concentrations of THC. Hemp CBD is being touted as something that can help with a range of ailments because it has so many beneficial qualities, such as acting as an anti-inflammatory and anticonvulsant. Some of the things that hemp CBD is being used for by consumers include: Anxiety Chronic pain Inflammation Skin issues Digestive issues Problems with sleep In 2018, the first FDA-approved prescription medication also became available, which was Epidiolex that is primarily prescribed for patients with epilepsy. According to NBC News, the CBD market is expected to reach an astounding $2.3 billion in sales by the year 2022, and Kentucky is bound to have a large chunk of that pie as one of the nation's larger hemp producers.
The Safest CBD Oil, Including our Bluegrass Botanic, Inc Oils, Could Come from Gencanna in Kentucky
One of the leading CBD product manufacturers, Gencanna, is basing a lot of its efforts in the state of Kentucky. Gencanna is one of only 13 companies who have gained approval by the United States Hemp Authority. In order to gain approval, companies must meet a strict set of standards, both in production processes and the hemp that they source for use in their products. Therefore, some of the safest and most reliable CBD oil products could very well be sourced from the Bluegrass State. Thanks to the passage of the Farm Bill, KY farmers can step out beyond the lines of pilot programs for hemp growth and start developing full-scale operations. Not only that, but farmers will now have an opportunity to apply for federally funded programs for farm assistance and get the crop insurance they need to protect their investments. Fields of green are bound to start showing up all across the state known for bluegrass, horses, and tobacco as Kentucky regains its once-held title as "The Hemp Capital of the World."
No matter where you look in the health and wellness market, CBD-infused products are showing up and getting a lot of attention—even for pets. The fact is, many of the reasons why CBD is beneficial for humans are the same reasons CBD could do well for pets. CBD for dogs and CBD for cats is showing up in all kinds of forms and varieties, and it is for good reason. Here's a look at what you should know as a consumer looking to try hemp for pets in the form of CBD. At Bluegrass Botanic, Inc., we are a bit pet crazy so this is a topic you will read about often in our blogs!
What Exactly Is CBD?CBD, which stands for cannabidiol, is one of the many cannabinoids that can be derived from hemp plants. Unlike THC, CBD does not cause psychoactive feelings, which means it is highly regarded for its wellness properties. The CBD is derived from different parts of the hemp plant and then used to create a multitude of different consumer products, including products for pets.
There are many commonalities between the bodies of different mammals, including the human body and the bodies of both cats and dogs. One of those similarities is the presence of an endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is what reacts with cannabinoids when they are introduced into the body, including the cannabinoid CBD. When you give your cat or dog CBD, it is transported by the bloodstream to different cannabinoid receptors located throughout the body. This system of neurotransmitters is responsible for things like immune system health, sleep cycle regulation, and even certain organ functions.
What Are the Benefits of CBD for Pets? The studies of the benefits of CBD are just beginning to gain a lot of traction, so there is a lot yet to be learned about this cannabinoid. However, there is strong evidence that CBD could potentially be used to help pets with a range of different ailments, some of which include:
What Kind of CBD Products Are Available for Pets?CBD-infused products are available in many different forms for cats and dogs. Therefore, it is fairly easy to find a product that is easy to use. You can find things like drops and capsules that can be incorporated into food or water for easy dosing, but you can also find things like:
How Do You Find the Best CBD Products for Cats and Dogs? When you are buying CBD products for your pets, these products should be just as quality and just as reliable as CBD you buy for yourself. There are a few primary attributes to look for in a product before you make a purchase, including:
You care about the health and wellbeing of your horses. That's why you take such great care with them. But despite giving them the best food, care and attention, horses can develop difficult to treat ailments. Left unmanaged, these slowly-progressing but serious ailments can really threaten a horse's quality of life.
Could hemp help your horse with these common horse ailments? Let's take a look at how the best CBD for horses can do just that and explore the safest CBD oils you can only get from Gencanna. As an owner/trainer for 25 years, I am considering it a priority to bring quality products to you that will help our beloved horses.
1. HEMP FOR HORSE JOINT ISSUESInflammation of the joints is not only painful. It interferes with a horse's normal daily activities and significantly reduces quality of life.
The "-itis" simply means inflammation, a natural immune system response to perceived sickness. Inflammation is important to fight infection, but sometimes the immune system goes overboard, causing arthritis. This unfettered inflammation eventually completely destroys the joints.
Studies show that hemp oil may help a horse with joint inflammation in two ways. First, it can reduce that inflammation to avoid further damage. Second, it may reduce the pain levels from the damage that has already occurred. While few studies have been done on horses specifically, they have been done on other vertebrates: Humans, dogs, rats and mice. In each of these, the causes and mechanism for joint inflammation are the same as horses.
A 2018 study on canines found that giving dogs with joint inflammation a single high dose of CBD reduced pain levels and increased normal physical activities with no side effects. Finding the best CBD for horses could help you manage their joint issue symptoms.
2. HEMP FOR HORSE LAMENESSAn estimated 60% of lameness is caused by pain from joint inflammation in horses. Using the best CBD for horses to lower the immune system's inflammatory response may also reduce lameness.
Researchers believe that CBD oils work with the cannabinoid receptors in the body to regulate immune response. This reduces inflammation and the pain associated with it. Safe CBD oils may help restore your horse's ability to walk and even run with less pain.
3. HEMP FOR HORSE BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMSIf you're feeling sad, scared or angry you generally feel better by sharing with a spouse, family member or friend. Horses can't tell you that they're having a bad day or are in pain. Instead, they may act out to communicate.
How could the best CBD for horses help with this? Researchers believe they know. Those cannabinoid receptors we discussed earlier help the body regulate hormones like serotonin. Hemp-derived CBD doesn't cause an altered mental state like other cannabis plants. Instead, by helping the body regulate hormones, it can generate a more balanced mood state. Humans describe it as a general sense of well-being.
4. HEMP FOR HORSE SEPARATION ANXIETYSince hemp can help create a more balanced mood state, it may also help horses who suffer with separation anxiety. CBD doesn't make these horse feel sedated or otherwise "funny-feeling". The safest CBD oils are different from prescription drugs in that they generate a very "normal" feeling.
We can't ask horses how they feel, but humans who regularly use take CBD tinctures daily say they don't feel odd in any way. They simply feel less anxious.
5. HEMP FOR HORSE NERVOUSNESSPerhaps your horse doesn't have separation anxiety but is generally nervous all the time. Hemp may be able to help. Numerous studies support this and other ways the safest CBD oils may help mental states.
For example, researchers found that a regular, consistent daily dose of CBD oil may reverse psychosis.
Psychosis re-wires the brain abnormally, causing an altered sense of reality. Psychosis can manifest as paranoia and general nervousness in horses, humans, dogs and other vertebrates. It's common in rescue horses who may have been mistreated but could occur in any horse.
In this study, researchers compared the brains of those participants using CBD to those who were not. They could physically see that the psychosis wiring in CBD group's brains had reversed itself, returning the brain to normal.
6. HEMP FOR CHEMO SIDE EFFECTS IN HORSESWhether we're talking about chemo in humans, horses, dogs or cats, the side effects are similar. And, for a time, they may actually be worse than the actual disease. These include:
Studies show that hemp may:
CBD helps animals with anxiety about 75% of the time. It is either somewhat or very helpful with chronic pain in about 90% of cases. These statements are based on their own observations and conversations with the owners.
45% of vets say they're comfortable discussing CBD with owners. Veterinarians and veterinary associations overwhelmingly believe that early results are very promising and support more research.
The American Veterinary Medical Association states that CBD may hold therapeutic benefits. But they still strongly discourage association members from actually recommending CBD because studies are ongoing. For this reason, your vet may not mention that some of the safest CBD oils may help your horse unless you initiate the conversation.
It's important to note here that buying CBD from any source may not result in any benefits. CBD is a highly unregulated industry. So currently it's upon you are the guardian of this horse to know how to find the safest CBD oils for your horse.
BEST CBD FOR HORSESThe safest CBD oils for horses come from Gencanna. That's why Bluegrass Bontanic trusts them to provide the best CBD oils for horses.
Gencanna is one of only 13 companies approved by the US Hemp Authority. This organization regulates the safety and quality of CBD products by reviewing the results of testing by 3rd-party labs.
Gencanna gets its hemp from family-owned farms that apply sustainable farming practices so you know you're getting a product that's good for your horses and the environment. Sustainable farming means more nutrient-rich soil and less need for chemical fertilizers.

If you're taking one or more pharmaceutical drugs to treat a chronic condition, you know about side effects. You may be treating one condition only to suffer from several more.
While pharmaceutical drugs can be very effective at managing the symptoms of a chronic condition, they rarely if ever eliminate that condition. So it's essential that you use a more comprehensive and holistic strategy to manage symptoms. That includes, of course, diet, exercise, stress management and trusted supplements like the best CBD oil for health.
Doing this allows you to work with your doctor to reduce your need for prescription drugs. So to that effect, let's take a look at how CBD is helping people with various chronic conditions cut back on their prescriptions and explore how to choose the best and safest CBD oil.
1. Chronic Pain
Doctors often treat chronic pain with opioid drugs, which have numerous side effects on top of being highly addictive. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse as many as 12% of legal opiod users will become dependent on the drug and around 6% will transition to heroin, a street opiate.
As of late, the over-prescription of prescription opiates has been a major national health and social topic, with 130 people dying of overdose every day.
Many studies have shown that CBD can help reduce opioid usage
2. Anxiety / Panic Attacks
While THC, the psychoactive substance in non-hemp cannabis can make people anxious, CBD tends to have a calming, non-sedating effect that balances the body. You know... like you feel after a great yoga class.
Those with anxiety produce, and do not quickly eliminate adrenaline, the fight or flight hormone. On top of this, a person with anxiety may underproduce serotonin, the happiness hormone. Researchers believe that CBD works by helping your body regulate these hormones to keep you in a more balanced mood state. It does this by interacting with your body's cannabinoid receptors.
This may improve the efficacy of anti-anxiety drugs and reduce the dosage needed. But remember, you should never stop taking medications without speaking with your doctor.
A collaborative study between researchers at the New York University School of Medicine and the Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante reviewed dozens of pre-clinical studies and concluded, "Preclinical evidence conclusively demonstrates CBD’s efficacy in reducing anxiety".
Because of the above mentioned "balanced" mood state, using the best CBD oil for health may also help those suffering from depression. This is a big one because many people find that anti-depressants don't work for them or have unbearable side effects. One study found that anti depressents were only about slightly more effective than placebo.
Studies show that CBD may help relieve depression symptoms, although more CBD-depression studies in humans are needed.
If you suffer with depression or anxiety using the most effective and safest CBD oils such as those manufactured by Gencanna may help with depression symptoms and allow you to cut back on pharmaceuticals.
4. Various bowel situations-
Extensive studies show that the best CBD oil for health can reduce inflammation. So it's no surprise that it may be able to reduce your bowel inflammation.
One study showed that cbd reduced intestinal inflammation by regulating the immune system's response. Additionally, in randomized clinical trials, researchers gave participants the best CBD oil for health and found a reduction in gut motility and transient time. In other words, it slowed down how fast food moved through the gut.
When food moves too quickly through the gut, the intestinal wall doesn't properly absorb water and nutrients. This can lead to symptoms like pain, diarrhea and urgency. Could finding the safest CBD oil reduce your own bowel symptoms so you can cut back on pharmaceuticals?
5. Chemo-Related Side Effects
Studies also show that CBD can help reduce chemo- induced nausea and vomiting. That's a big deal for patients who struggle to eat and keep food down because of these symptoms.
It may also help with the following chemo side effects:
CHOOSING THE SAFEST CBD OIL AND THE BEST CBD OIL FOR HEALTH.
According to the American Institute of Stress, 46% of us have trouble managing our workloads. 28% are stressed because of issues with co-workers and bosses. 20% struggle to balance work and home life.
A small amount of stress is natural. It motivates us. Significant, ongoing stress is bad for your health. Finding balance is key to regulating stress. So you meditate, exercise, do yoga or find other ways to maintain that life balance. Could CBD oil be one more tool you have to live a more balanced life?
HOW DOES CBD OIL IMPROVE BALANCE?CBD oil is a plant-based oil that comes from the flowers of hemp. It's active ingredient, cannabadiol (CBD), is a cannabinoid, which is bio-identical to the cannabinoids that all mammals, including humans, make inside their bodies. Cannabinoids help your endocannabinoid system regulate signals in the body to maintain balance.
CBD oil works with your endocannabinoid system in the same way that your own cannabinoids do.
HOW DOES THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM WORK?The endocannabinoid system is responsible for regulating balance in your body. But it's not the kind that you become aware of after spinning around in an office chair.
This form of balance is called Homeostasis. It's the most ideal state for the body and mind. It's where a mentally- and physically-healthy person spends most of their time.
As a mental state, this is the state of contentment, peace and general well-being. As a physical state, it's a general sense of physical well-being. In other words, you're not in pain. You're not hungry or too hot. You don't feel discomfort or inflammation.
Cannabinoids are little molecules that help the endocannabinoid system maintain this balance. They do this by attaching to special receptors in the nervous system called CB2 receptors. When they do so, it slows down the overwhelming flow of nervous system messages.
HOW CBD OIL MAY HELP YOU MANAGE STRESSThe body listens to messages received from different cells in your body and produces hormones and other substances in response. When you feel stressed, your body and mind are most often overreacting to something.
This may cause you to over-produce adrenaline, the fight or flight hormone. You might also start pumping out cortisol, which increases stress eating. At the same time, stress may hinder serotonin, the happiness hormone and melatonin, the hormone that helps you get a good night's sleep.
Your endocannabinoid system's role at that time to bring you back into a calmer, more focused state. This isn't sedation or a drugged feeling. It's simply a normal calm.
If you feel stressed on a regular basis, you may not be producing enough cannabinoids to help you stay feeling balanced. When this happens, CBD oil may provide your body with the additional cannabinoids it needs to maintain a more balanced sense of wellbeing.
CBD OIL FOR BALANCEYou understand the importance of maintaining balance in life. You function at your best and feel healthier. Sometimes work and life can get in the way. CBD oil may be yet another useful tool you can use to regulate stress. It's time to find out for yourself. Full spectrum CBD or CBD isolate? What's the difference? Is one better for you? If you're taking CBD because you like what the studies are showing about possible therapeutic health benefits, then you need to know the difference when you choose your CBD.
Here's everything you need to know about their differences and when you should choose one or the other.
CBD ISOLATE VS FULL SPECTRUM: WHAT ARE THEY?
Just like your body is made up of many types of proteins, fats, calcium, electrolytes and other chemicals and nutrients, a plant is made up of hundreds of compounds. When someone offers you "Full Spectrum CBD", they're saying that the CBD includes hundreds of naturally-occurring phytochemicals, cannabinoids and terpenes found in hemp plant's flowers.
CBD isolate means that the CBD has been completely removed from these other substances. It's pure or as close as it possibly can be, usually around 99% pure CBD. If it is run through a lab, it would show no active ingredients other than CBD. In other words, no THC...not even a trace.
CBD ISOLATE VS FULL SPECTRUM: BENEFITS & USES
Full spectrum CBD is more like consuming a whole food versus an isolated vitamin. The many surrounding compounds are believed to complement the CBD. For example, one of the compounds, Terpene, is a flavor enhancer. It may also enhance CBD effects.
Aside from THC, which is only present in trace amounts in hemp-derived, full spectrum CBD, we know little about the other cannabinoids in cannabis. It's likely that they have similar beneficial properties. All cannabinoids are antioxidants.
A recent study demonstrated that full spectrum may have a "synergistic effect", also called the "entourage effect", where everything is working together to support an outcome. Full-spectrum exists on this premise.
CBD isolate doesn't have the entourage effect. It's more pure. CBD alone has shown that it can reduce inflammation in the body. Using a CBD isolate means you're getting more CBD with less potential "fluff". Taking a CBD isolate makes it easier to know exactly how much CBD you're getting so that you can adjust doses to find what helps you meet your goals.
Hemp alone has an earthy taste so full spectrum also has that flavor. It's hard to cover up. Flavors like peppermint, cinnamon or vanilla can make it quite palatable. Isolate has no flavor other than what is added as the natural flavor agent.
Isolate does not have a significant taste. This makes it easier to put isolate into edibles without influencing the taste. If you'd like to try cooking with CBD, then isolate is the way to go. It won't alter the flavor of your food.
Finally, it's important to note that most scientists use isolate for their studies. So when you see a report that CBD does this or reduces that, the researchers are probably using isolate. If you're trying to mimic a study, then you'll probably want to use isolate as well.
CBD ISOLATE VS FULL SPECTRUM: HOW ARE THEY EXTRACTED?
In its natural state, CBD isolate usually comes in a white powder that can be mixed with other things. True isolate and full spectrum are both derived from the stalks of a healthy hemp plant, never the seeds. That's just hemp-seed oil, which doesn't contain significant CBD and is commonly used as a filler oil.
The process for extracting isolate is a bit more involved than spectrum, as you can imagine. It takes 3 steps. It starts with the full spectrum extraction process for which the best option is CO2 extraction. Now, you have concentrated CBD with its entourage.
Next, a special filter isolates the non-CBD compounds and removes them. Finally, the CBD undergoes a process called "winterization". This removes plant waxes and any remaining plant residues to further purify the isolate. Isolate takes longer to extract so it may cost more. You may also need less of it.
CBD ISOLATE VS FULL SPECTRUM CBD: WHICH IS BETTER?
Both CBD isolate and full spectrum CBD serve a purpose and more studies are needed to say definitively which is better for a specific person or precisely how much a person needs.
It's important to note that people's bodies can respond differently to substances like CBD. So honestly, they both have pros and cons and you may want to try both to see which works best for you personally. The best CBD for you is the one that helps you meet your CBD goals and that may take some experimenting at this point in the game. To get more honest answers about CBD, follow our blog.

"We sell CBD" signs are popping up everywhere. Did you know that not all CBD is the same? Seemingly small differences in processing and quality control determine whether you're buying safe CBD oil or not.
To get what you pay for and get the most effective CBD, ask these six questions of your potential CBD provider.
1. DO YOU USE AN FDA APPROVED FACILITY?
CBD isn't currently regulated as an ag food product. This means that, technically, a person could be extracting CBD in their living room and selling it to you. That's not very sanitary.
To find a safe CBD oil, look for CBD that is being processed in a food-grade facility that is approved by the FDA. This means they have to meet the highest cleanliness and quality-assurance safeguards.
2. DO YOU DO INDEPENDENT 3RD PARTY TESTING?
Because CBD is very under regulated, current quality control is non-existent unless companies self-regulate. A company can and should do their own testing to ensure you're getting the most effective CBD with consistent CBD levels per mL. The best kind of quality testing is 3rd party lab testing. This takes the conflict of interest out of the equation. Top CBD brands like Gencanna use 3rd party testers.
3. ARE YOU APPROVED BY THE US HEMP AUTHORITY?
One of the highest honors for a CBD company is to be approved by the US Hemp Authority. No, not just anyone can get approved. They only approve top CBD brands that meet the very highest standards. If someone tells you differently, they are not well educated on the topic. Only 14 companies, so far, have been approved. Gencanna is one of them.
4. DO YOU USE A CO2 EXTRACTION PROCESS?
Some producers of CBD oil use a chemical extraction process that can leave foreign chemicals in the CBD oil. On top of that, ethanol-extraction destroys the complex spectrum of antioxidants and nutrients in CBD. These substances provide an entourage effect, which may enhance flavor and benefit.
During CO2 extraction, trained personnel use low-temperature carbon dioxide to extract and preserve the CBD. This process requires specialized training and equipment. The result is preferred by top CBD brands. This naturally occurring gas is the best way to make a safe CBD oil.
5. IS THE HEMP FARMED SUSTAINABLY?
Sustainable farms aren't only better for the environment. They also create a healthier product. They maximize water usage efficiency and apply biological matter (instead of chemical fertilizers) to the soil to keep it healthy and nutrient-rich with each new crop.
To buy the most effective CBD look for mention of sustainable farming.
6. DOES YOUR CBD COME FROM INDUSTRIAL HEMP?
CBD can be extracted from other cannabis strains . But other strains have higher levels of THC. You may or may not want THC in your CBD oil. This is especially important if you live in a state where recreational marijuana isn't legal.
Top CBD brands use industrial hemp with less than 0.3% THC to produce a safe CBD oil. They may even offer a THC Free CBD oil for those who prefer it.
THE MOST EFFECTIVE CBD OIL
To find the safest and most effective CBD oil, look for CBD that is being produced in food-grade facilities. The top CBD brands are approved by the US Hemp Authority and have their testing done by a 3rd party. Look for CBD that is CO2 extracted so that it retains its entourage of antioxidants. When you're looking for the most effective CBD, look no further than Gencanna, available at Bluegrass Botanic at the most affordable prices in the country.

When it comes to many herbal supplements, how or why they work is largely a mystery. A lot of the evidence is based on self-reporting. But this is not the case with hemp CBD. The body systems involved have been well-researched. We continue to see new studies completed that support earlier findings.
Here's what science knows about how the best CBD oil works and what it can do for your body.
WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM?
It all starts with the endocannabinoid system, one of the many systems in the human body, as well as all mammals.
To understand what the endocannabinoid system is, let's first look at the human body as a whole. The human body is designed to spend most of its time in homeostasis, or balance.
As a mental state, this is the feeling of contentment. On a physical level, this is balanced body function, or what we might just think of as good health. You're not inflamed, in pain, feeling nauseated, dehydrated or any other unbalanced state of being.
Hormones Regulate Homeostasis
Your body uses hormones to regulate these body functions. It controls how much you release or how fast hormone is reabsorbed. If you need a boost of energy to avoid a car wreck, your body may release some adrenaline. As soon as the emergency is over, the body works fast to return you to homeostasis.
If that adrenaline lingered in your body, you would stay in an anxious state, always ready for the next danger when there really is no danger.
Systems Regulate the Hormones
You have systems like the hypothalamus to regulate these various hormones. The endocannabinoid system is one of these systems. Its job is to maintain homeostasis in the body.
The system includes cannabinoid receptors (CB receptors), which are like guards, constantly keeping watch over the body and assessing the situation.
Endocannabinoids Communicate with Systems
When the endocannabinoid system detects that something is "out of whack", chronic inflammation, for example, it produces endocannabinoids inside the cells. These endocannabinoids are like soothing music. They settle down the over-activity in the body. The result can be different depending on which receptors are targeted.
The two most understood CB receptors are CB1 and CB2.
CB1 is in your brain. When a person consumes THC, the psychoactive chemical in marijuana, it interacts with the CB1 receptor and causes that high feeling. That's not what most people who use hemp CBD want.
CB2 is in the nervous system throughout the body. The safest CBD oil interacts with this receptor and has a very different effect on the body. Instead of causing a high, it causes balance in the body.
The challenge with this perfect system of balance is that stress, sickness, fatigue, etc. can cause the body can overreact. As we age, our own body's endocannabinoids become less frequent and less effective at communicating with these overreacting cells. Mood swings, anxiety, memory problems, inflammation and more can result.
If you're over 40, you've likely noticed this shift in your body's ability to recover from stressors and remain in a content state.
HOW DOES THE BEST CBD OIL INTERACT WITH THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM?
Hemp CBD is bioidentical to the endocannabinoids that your own body produces. The best CBD oil can replace some of the natural endocannabinoids to restore homeostasis to the body. It interacts only with CB2 receptors, so it can't make you feel weird in any way.
"Bioidentical" is always better for your body because it means you're not introducing synthetic substances that could have negative side effects. When you use the safest CBD oil, there are no side effects.
Now, let's look at some specific ways restoring balance may help your body and mind.
Inflammation is an important infection fighter. Those with chronic inflammation may experience inflammation in places where there is no reason for it to be there. Or the inflammation may stick around after the injury has healed. Chronic inflammation can do permanent damage to joints, organs and other parts of the body.
The safest CBD oil doesn't stop all inflammation because you need some to fight infections. It balances out the inflammation so that your body only has as much inflammation as it needs.
This may help people with many various inflammatory diseases.
Chronic pain is often a mixture of things. First of all, there is likely inflammation making the pain worse. Nerves may also be raw, tender or even damaged if you have an auto-immune disorder. Finally, your pain receptors may also be overreacting to the slightest discomfort, making pain more frequent and intense.
Taking the best CBD oil from Gencanna may help pain first by reducing inflammation and second by calming the overactive nerves.
This may help people with:
Because Hemp CBD balances the body, many experience a reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms. Those with anxiety have too much of the hormone adrenaline floating around making them anxious. Those with depression have trouble keeping the happiness hormone serotonin in their system.
Many anti-depressants are "serotonin reuptake inhibitors". The best CBD oil from Gencanna may slow the reuptake naturally through the endocannabinoid system.
Nausea and vomiting are natural body responses when you've consumed something that your body perceives as a poison. If you're on chemo, nausea and vomiting serve no positive function. They just make it hard to eat so you can stay strong during treatment.
Hemp CBD may reduce nausea and vomiting. The best CBD oil is believed to soothe irritated stomachs and bowels.
If you have chronic nausea and vomiting for whatever reason, hemp CBD may be able to help.
As a reminder with any ailments, you should never stop taking a medication prescribed by a doctor to begin taking CBD oil. The therapeutic effects of CBD may allow you to work with your doctor to slowly reduce the dosage you need of various medications.
FINDING THE BEST CBD OIL
If you're taking CBD for its potential therapeutic effects, then realize that quality matters. Not all CBD is the safe. The US Hemp Authority has rigorous safety and quality standards and only approves a handful of companies so look for a company that they endorse.

As you may already know there's something to the power of essential oils. They can ease headaches, pain, congestion, and help you sleep. Essential oils like peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, and lavender oil have scientifically-supported benefits and some are even used in mainstream medicine. There's another essential oil that's strongly backed by science and should definitely be in your essential oil cabinet. That's cannabidiol oil, more commonly known as CBD oil. Here's what makes CBD oil such an important essential oil.
CBD'S ESSENTIAL OIL USES
Studies support CBD's ability to help ease:
Essential oils often have calming effects on the body. While we're just beginning to understand how essential oils work, it may have to do with the endocannabinoid system. This system found in all mammals is responsible for helping your body and mind stay in balance. Inflammation, stress and ongoing pain are the result of a body and/or mind that's struggling to find balance.
CBD oil, specifically, is bio-identical to the cannabinoids that your own body makes. A growing body of research suggests that CBD attaches to overactive cells via something called a CB2 receptor. This helps regulate hyperactive messages being sent to and from the cell.
HOW CBD WORKS WITH OTHER ESSENTIAL OILS
Inhaled peppermint oil and lavender oil together may help relieve headaches. Adding inhaled or ingested CBD oil to this regimen can relieve the or prevent tension causing some headaches.
Menthol (mint) patches and topically-applied oil can be very effective at reducing painful joints. Topically-applied CBD oil with menthol can further reduce the inflammation that may be causing that pain.
Inhaling lavender oil can help you sleep. Taking CBD oil orally twice a day over an extended period of time may reduce the stress that often leads to sleep trouble so that you have fewer episodes.
